Working with REPIC

Producers

REPIC was initially set up by many of the UK’s leading household electrical brands to meet their producer obligations under the WEEE Directive. Led by the needs of our producer members, we expanded into battery and packaging compliance, and wider environmental and sustainability services.

As a not-for-profit organisation, our purpose is always to support our members.

When working with REPIC, our team become a part of your team. By listening and understanding your unique waste and resources challenges, our experienced specialists can offer tailored solutions to help you achieve your wider environmental and sustainability goals.

We deliver an array of value added services to help our members in their journey towards delivering circular business models and net zero.

Did you know, our name is an acronym for Recycling Electrical Producers’ Industry Consortium?

REPIC’s WEEE, Batteries and Packaging compliance services seamlessly integrate into your business, with the aim of also helping your business improve resource efficiency, increase reuse and recyclability of your products and reduce costs in support of creating a circular economy.

Placing our values - collaboration, respect and expertise - at the heart of our operations, our producer members benefit from at least one or more of the following value added services:

  • 1
Support with their take back requirements

Many of our compliance scheme members sell electricals and batteries – direct, online or by phone – so legislation states that they must provide a free WEEE and Battery take back service to enable their customers to dispose of their old items. We support with collection arrangements and communication to customers about this service.

  • 2
Strategies to improve resource efficiency throughout the entire product lifecycle

Our WEEE experts can work with your teams to develop bespoke strategies to improve resource efficiency across your product range. From collection and assessment, high quality refurbishment and repair, through to resale; REPIC offers a more sustainable approach to consumption and production to help minimise the environmental impact associated with manufacturing new products.

  • 3
Providing data on waste and resources to drive impactful change

We provide members with useful data and insights to improve their resource efficiency and cut business costs. REPIC also invests in new research, development and consumer surveys and regularly shares new insights with its members.

  • 4
Support with preparing for environmental audits, permits and the licensing of products

When you are audited by the Environment Agency, our experts can support you by preparing presentations for the audit and assist throughout the audit process itself. The REPIC team can also support businesses with related activities, including applying for relevant waste permits and licensing of a new product through defining the product’s end of life processes.

  • 5
Enhanced knowledge to support the transition to a circular economy

All organisations must adapt to meet environmental requirements and this starts with increasing awareness around key topics. REPIC can support a business to prepare for the circular economy and reach net zero targets by sharing its experience to improve waste optimisation, energy efficiency, waste management and carbon reporting. From arranging treatment facility tours, to free and regular online knowledge sharing sessions on WEEE, Batteries and Packaging. REPIC has the capability to provide your team with the resources to drive forward your circular economy goals.
